German pancakes, also known as Dutch Baby pancakes, are a lighter and fluffier version of the classic American style pancakes. We’ve done a lot of dabbling and taste testing so we can say with certainty that this is hands down the best German pancake recipe we’ve ever made!

Equipment

  • 9 x 13 baking pan
  • Blender

German Pancake Ingredients

  • ¾ cups milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 tbsp melted butter

Instructions: How to Make German Pancakes

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. While waiting for your oven to preheat, add butter to your baking dish and put it in the oven until it melts.
  3. In your blender, add flour, salt, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Cover and blend your ingredients together until they’re smooth.
  4. Pour your pancake batter directly into the baking dish over your melted butter.
  5. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until the edges become puffy and golden brown.
  6. Serve to your loved ones immediately with your favorite toppings.
