- Mixing Bowl
- Spatula
- Whisk
Sourdough Pancake Recipe Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 1/3 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions: How to Make Sourdough Pancakes
- In your mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and whisk until combined.
- Add the sourdough starter, vegetable oil, egg, and milk to the mixing bowl. Use your whisk to mix until just combined. Some lumps are okay; you don’t want to run the risk of over-mixing your batter or it changes the texture of your pancakes.
- Set your stove or griddle to medium heat and grease your griddle or non-stick pan with butter. Use a ladle or measuring cup to pour ¼ cup scoops of sourdough batter onto your hot surface. Let it cook for a minute or two until bubbles start to form on the surface and the bottom is golden brown. Then you can flip your pancake and let the other side cook until golden brown as well.
- Serve warm with your favorite pancake toppings!
